Recorded August 13, 2008 Dublin was my first stop on my 5-week European holiday in the summer of 2008. I only had one day to spend in Dublin. Most of the video was shot around the River Liffey in downtown Dublin. The video concludes with a drive through the city on a double-deck bus. This video shows the four classes of DART trains in operation in downtown Dublin and along the cliffs of Dublin Bay between Dalkey & Killiney in September 2014. The railway is 5 foot 3 inch gauge (Irish standard gauge) with 1500V DC overhead wires. The 8100 class are two car EMUs comprising a driving power car and a driving trailer. The 8500, 8510 & 8520 classes are 4 car units with the middle two cars being power cars. Only the 8520 class is air-conditioned. All four classes are seen in action together with video shot inside and from the trains. Many thanks to the staff at Connolly station for help in shooting this video.
